That's a decent read..(and thank you for not coming back with a silly one liner, I appreciate it :O) FWIW I voted Conservative federally I think at least the last 4 times but this last election I voted Liberal for two reasons... I did not want to see (I could expound but this not the forum) a Conservative majority and we have only two viable choices ... The NDP and Greens would plunge us into true socialist nonsense.. (Too bad the separatist Bloc leader from Quebec is not a federalist ... he was the class of the race by far) Interesting the comment on the liability of Congress.. Our government is functioning in the best interest of the population presently because it is a minority government and deals need to be brokered between parties.. so very little special interest crap can get by.. BUT unlike the Europeans we don't much care for coalition governments up here..

The Black Swan

EDIT On fiscal policy, Canada has an advantage of running a parliamentary system. Hence the Budget when presented to the House of Commons by the Minister of Finance is a government document, not simply a suggestion to the barons of Congress

In a minority this is not the case.. the parties need give and take.. to get support...
