shane:
I also listened to the conference call. Your summary is first rate. I
got a good feeling from the tone of the call. Yocam was solid but
not "exhuberant"; he was optomistic, but cautious. I got the
distinct impression that he wanted a solid, measured growth pat-
tern, not a roller-coaster ride. He inspired quiet confidence which
felt right for his stated objectives.....a good turnaround in 6-8 quarters.
I'm staying around for awhile.
Luck to all,
Jack Gibson
ps: Leo, give it up. The 3% should have been 4%. The actual
percentage was .388......easily rounded off to 4. You know damned
well that you ARE NOT short on BORL. But you are still the best
devil"s advocate on this or any other thread......especially because
your are so damned likeable. You probably are a really good scout
leader.
Jack

7. 52% US and 48% international (I think these are the right numbers - close enough!) - Dale said this was good considering Europe vacations (this European part sounded a bit flaky to me!)

This is believable. Most of Europe takes a month off (I believe it is August) and travels to another part of Europe to vacation. Very little work or business gets done during this time period, it is almost as if the whole continent shuts down. Very "out of the ordinary" from the American perspective.

>> in 2-3 years down the road <<

That long, uh ?!...

>> The key issue is revenue growth and how will that come about. <<

I rest my case.

Shane,

7. 52% US and 48% international (I think these are the right numbers - close enough!) - Dale said this was good considering Europe vacations (this European part sounded a bit flaky to me!)

Holiday seasons in Europe are roughly:

July/August (summer)
December/Januari (christmas/new-year)
March (wintersports - not so many people as summer)

Good sales quarters in Europe traditionally are:

October-December
April-June

The best sales month mostly is December as companies found out they still have parts of their budgets open for spending. If the don't spend them, their budgets will be downgraded next year, so they HAVE to spend it.
