Well, maybe I can clarify with you a bit. During my lifetime, we've always had a progressive tax structure. Under Republicans over the last 40 years, it has generally favored more wealthy folks, under the trickle down theory espoused by Reagan. Bush took this theory to the extreme and skewed the tax structure even more in favor of the wealthy. Obama's tax plan will move the tax structure back to one more similar to the one we had in the 1990's when the economy was the best we've seen it in my lifetime.

So as far as taxes go, I'd like to see the Bush tax cuts rolled back, but let's do it 2-3 years from now after we're over this recessionary hump. In the mean time, let's stop spending money where it does us no good, like in Iraq and oil tax breaks.
