Yeah, great, an article from another professional Microsoft suckup. Microsoft doesn't want to embrace and demolish Java, it just wants to give us the best. I must respond, as always, with the question: If native OS calls are so great, why not native code? If DCOM/COM/COM+/ActiveDirectVisual foobar is so wonderful, what is the point of the JVM/JIT baloney? And why the great Java purge at www.microsoft.com?

The war on Java is like the war on Netscape, and the whole stupid "OS/Browser integration" thing. The whole point of Java is portability, and the browser is an application. Netscape and Java aren't particularly a threat to Microsoft, people will go on buying Windows and NT and Office no matter what.

Cheers, Dan
