lol...italian prime minister floated the idea a couple of weeks ago, he must be a republican

go back and re-read the roubini piece...

he didn't say 'close the market IN a week or two'

he said "close FOR a week or two"

and ''don't be surprised if policy makers need to close down markets for a week or two in coming days,'' he said.

after which, should they do so, le deluge....

(worked so well for the russians, didn't it?)

See....talk of closing the markets a week or two? What about the election? Do you think they would let the election go off if the stock market is halted for a week or two? I mean, come on....that would be unfair to the republican party, right? Being in a credit crisis and all....would be unfair to the republicans and give the democrats an advantage, right?
