Interesting. Actually Bernie Schafer's Investment Research Institute also mentioned to me another brokerage that lets u do options in your IRA - I think it's called Kennedy something.

I had discussions with Brown & co over the options issue while opening the account and they did not mention penalties - I will check this out further. One of the reasons I wanted options in my IRA is because the account is pretty small and I did want to leverage it. Anyway, thanks for the info.
