really interesting info Jeff, but I'm guessing that this is total firm trading, which is probably MOSTLY from client accounts... and most of the BIG firms don't SOLICIT trades... so it represents very possibly the client mix at these firms and the CLIENTS propensity to be in tech stocks as a result of research coverage...and NOT the firm's activity... although it VERY WELL MIGHT be correlated to these firm's research recommendations, or guidance letters like "morning notes" on calls from and to the company, via investor relations conduits... interesting... but I think it represents mostly the sum of these firms client activities, thats my guess
