To stay alive, the mainstream media (i.e. traditional media, including CNN) will need to improve the quality of their coverage, not degrade it to the level of DailyKos. If they do what you say they're going to do, they're going to be finished, period. Well, perhaps. I would argue that NBC/MSNBC and the NYT are both already approaching the level of the DailyKOS. MSNBC's prime time lineup is all extremist liberals who will lie, cheat and steal on Obama's behalf. There isn't one element of honest news coverage for three straight hours of prime time. The NYT, same thing. They are so driven by liberalism that there isn't a minutes worth of honest journalism presented in the paper. It is total crap. So, will it degrade to the level of the KOS? I think there is ample evidence we're at least headed in that direction.
