He said once they get going on that chimney, it's all or nothing. They have done the best they can do without demoing it which he will do but right now, we just are willing to spend the rest of our ready savings. The contractor told my husband he thinks he's come up with a better temporary solution and will try it out today. My husband said go for it.

So far as the check goes, I don't understand that either. I mean, they were johnny on the spot to pay for the cranes as well as the first and last month's rent on the house we're in. They told the contractor how much they were willing to pay for a new roof and a new solarium. The contractor agreed to do the roof for that price, why not issue him a check for the roof?

I really believe there more to this than they are telling us. Some thing's not right here.
