Well I don't like the democratic position on SS and Medicare because i think it should be shut off. Of course it took a republican like Dumbya to effectively DOUBLE the medicare liability by creating medicare part D with no price controls LEGISLATED into the program. Bravo, hard to imagine how medicare can get any worse but republicans managed to do it beyond anyones wildest dreams. But anyway one thing DEMS DO RECOGNIZE is that FICA is a tax, unlike republicans that crow about taxes and never mention fica (because they know its a great deal being so regressive). Obama has already said he will raise the fica limits and I think they should.
