The GOP were scared of ACORN. This is what John Fund was saying on Fox earlier today. I guess they would camp out in front of congressmen's homes and just be obnoxious in general. Oh, I remember now. The GOP congressmen were fearful of being accused of racism if they went after ACORN. That was the major consideration.

That's a tactic ACORN honed in dealing with bankers. They'd be so obnoxious the bankers would cave in and make marginal loans to ACORN's "clients."

That's the problem now days, we've got too many officials that lack the backbone for a good fight. Thanks to the fear of being called a racist Republicans decided not to do the right thing. Doesn't speak very well for the GOP. To get them to back off all you have to do is threaten to call them a name? Not to mention that I've never seen the GOP seem so rudderless.
