I believe it can help in some circumstances. But the point is, had preventive care been FREE in my dad's instance, it wouldn't have mattered -- he would not have availed himself of it.

Today, there are millions who should get routine screening colonoscopies but won't do it. What is going to improve those numbers? Not making them more accessible, but making them less invasive, e.g., virtual colonscopies. If you want to catch CA COLON earlier you have to have better technology. Technology that will go away when you start cutting the dollars. Same is true, to a lesser extent, with mammography and PAPs.

This is a much more complex problem than the Obama rhetoric suggests.
