Z, > So don't vote for him, what can I tell you?

The fact that you approve of such "political games" already tells me a lot.

Maybe we should put Rangel in Iraq just to "make a point" about how stupid his proposal is. I'm sure the troops there will give him a very warm welcome ...

Z, one more thing about this whole "political game" over the draft.

You claimed Rangel had a good point, yet the part you quoted is full of fail:

> Appearing on ABC this weekend, Rangel suggested that the Bush administration would “get out of Iraq so fast if they thought that Middle America had to make any sacrifices.” He added, “Believe me, when a Congress knows you’re talking about their community and their families, you’re reluctant to go to war in Iraq as speedily as we have.”

a) Middle America sends more veterans than the urbanites that Rangel can relate to.

b) Really rich of one of the most corrupt Congressmen to claim that Congress actually cares about "community and their families."

c) Bush ordered the Iraq surge even when polls were against the war and for an early withdrawal. So much for the notion that elected officials would pull out of wars if public opinion was against it. Maybe only Democrats do that.

Z, remember when you openly doubted that America is a right-of-center nation? Just saw these two Newsweek articles that I wanted to share with you:

newsweek.com
newsweek.com

The first article suggests that Obama will need to remain closer to the center of the political spectrum if he is to succeed as president.

The second article suggests that Obama can help usher in a new era of liberalism and turn this country leftward.

Both articles affirm the notion that we are (or were) a center-right nation.
