My housekeeper, who inherited a sizeable chunk from a client and put it in a money market fund some years ago, called today and asked how she can get her money out of that fund (which Schwab turned into a bank deposit last February to lower the interest) and turn it into a cashier's check and take it to Mexico next week. She wouldn't be talked out of it. She understands nothing about money or finance other than she wants her money out of America right now.
