Snowy, the wild enthusiasm for "regulation" of the "shadow banking system" in the face of "failed capitalism" sounds good, but so did communism sound like an excellent theory until tested in reality.

The word "regulation" needs some definition. So does "shadow banking system".

Those who say capitalism failed should also explain just what they mean by capitalism failing and why they think that it did. It seems to be functioning just fine to the extent that capitalism is actually allowed to exist which is not very much.

Do you mean by regulation that car parking of anybody working for a company which has money would be assigned by a government bureaucrat? Do you mean that I am a shadow banking system because I do have money and I do lend it and otherwise form contracts for its disposition. Will my parking be regulated by one of your bureaucrats? Just exactly what regulations do you propose be invented to tell me what I can and can't and must do?
