You might want to review your abortion assertion, there is one clear reason liberals will not allow abortion on the ballot and it isn't because the majority of Americans want wholesale slaughter of their unborn children.. I'd doubt your assertion on taxes also, Joe the plumber is killing Obama with his redistribution of wealth agenda.

If America really were left-of-center, Iraq would never have been an issue in the first place. Taxes would be MUCH closer to pre-JFK levels. And abortion wouldn't be a four-letter word, even among the pro-choice crowd. Late-term abortions wouldn't even be an issue. The reason why you think Americans have a liberal perspective on issues is because the reference for comparison is America's right-of-center traditions. You may agree with the 2nd article more than the first, but fundamentally America leans somewhat right. Tenchusatsu
