Well, I guess I can understand that........doing so is very lucrative.

The League of Women Voters did the same thing for decades and they weren't being paid. I think it's a widely-held assumed value that everyone should vote. ACORN has supplemented that with pay, but I expect that a lot of the ACORN people think they're doing God's work in signing people up.

FYI, ACORN is a non-profit organization. Money isn't the motivator.

The people who are paid by ACORN to register voters are motivated by the pay, however, and I think that, together with lax oversight, is what has led to the problems there.
