When NSCP said they wanted to make the browser the OS, thereby minimizing the improtance of Windows (with NSCP being the monopolistic browser manufacturer), they invalidated this assertion. There are actually quotes from Marc Andreesen stating NSCP's mission to to make a OS out of the browser.
