I remember having discussions earlier in this election cycle that "here we go again, and the people will probably fall for it again"."

Everything else being equal, I'm sure they would. What overwhelms any type of ginned up fear and smear from the (R)'s is the approaching depression with the American vehicle stalled on the tracks and the (R)'s in the driver's seat. The (D)'s don't even have to DO any fearmongering. The stock market does it every day and the 401k statements drive it home.

Yes but its more than that........people are stepping in and doing what needs to be done to keep that stuff from getting a headwind. And not just Dems......Republicans too. Look what's happening to Bachmann in MN after her rant. C. Powell, a GOPer, dissed her. Another Republican is doing a write in campaign to draw votes from her. And people from all over the country are sending money to her opponent.

And some people are predicting that this year's election turnout will be close to 80%.....up from I think 60% in 2004. People can't wait to vote.....early voting has become wildly popular. Another Bush will not happen to this generation of Americans......I think we've learned our lesson.
