The supreme court was one of a long list of reasons Powell gave for endorsing Obama.

As far as endorsing Kerry, it was Kerry vs Bush, and Powell obviously felt - as did you - that Bush was the better choice.

You too ought to be concerned about the supreme court. If McCain feels Palin is the most qualified person to assume the presidency in the event Cindy hits him with a rolling pin... imagine who he'll nominate for the court. Harriet Myers?

In case it had escaped your notice, the makeup of the court has changed a little since 2004.
Had you listened to what Powell actually said, you'd have noticed that was contributory to his decision.

Though of course you seem determined to see everything through the prism of race.
