Most yacht owners that I know have at least one captain, a crew person is the next addition, and then it goes up from there. The captain on a 72 ft yacht starts at 60,000 plus benefits and their wages go up as the boat size increases. You cannot own a 72 ft yacht for less than $150,000 per year when you budget in for a new paint job every 7 years, and remember, this is after tax dollars. Why he thought that someone making $250,000 per year could own a yacht is way out there...but it is an easy way of justifying I suspect to himself why he wants to punish these people...so he make believes that they are really rich and it won't hurt them instead of focusing on government waste first.
