Here in America only half the people vote in national elections (although this number seems to be improving of late); about 33 percent in state elections and; and about 16 percent in municipal elections. See how easy the two-party system can manipulate such an apathetic electorate? This is precisely why the corporate element courted the fundamental religious groups, the anti-abortionist and NRA enthusiasts. This force, coupled with the corporate money driving the engine, enabled GOPwingers over the past forty years (since the advent of strong media) to win two out of every three presidential elections. Hence, the sorry state of our economy, the world's economy and America's standing in the world. Do you realize how appreciated America once was, prior to Nixon taking office? I think history is, today, finally catching up with the manipulators.
