People are pretty clear about the fact that Obama's policies are quite conservative. He lives a pretty conservative life...he is no radical. McCain and Palin's personal lives are much farther outside of the norm than Obama's.

Clinton was a moderate Republican.

Instead of calling for nationalized health care for example, Obama is offering up policies similar to Kerry's extension of Congressional health insurance to all Americans for purchase and something like Romney's Massachusetts plan for mandatory insurance for some. He wants to insure all children but they are cheap to insure and that isn't exactly a radical idea unless you think Republicans don't care about the health of kids.

:)

The country has moved so far to the extreme right that moderate Republicans end up looking like Democrats and moderate Democrats are called socialists. Then again, Bush IS a socialist, at least when the rich lose money, so the entire political spectrum is very confused right now.
