Mr. Gilder, I note that you have been consistently bullish (for want of a better word) on cable's ability to provide bandwidth to the home user market. Would you comment on DTH satellite please? It is my understanding that the achilles heel of satellite was the uplink side of the communication, but that the downlink side has always been considered stupendous. Recent developments suggest that the uplink 'problem' has been considerably improved via multi -streaming, among other enhancements. Do you concur? Thank you for your thoughts. Mike Doyle

What's your take on the battle between Sun and Microsoft on Java?

George,

Your recent GTR is quite high in its praise for WorldCom, while noting that Bernie Ebbers is positioning to become the JD Rockefeller of the new info era. Do you see any contradictions in this position? Is it consistent to be bearish on MSFT and bullish on WCOM? Do you expect his proposed acquisition of MCI to go smoothly through FTC, FCC, DOJ antitrust scrutiny? What did you think of his "data baron" approach to charging for peering? At 3x PE of long distance carriers, will WCOM be forgiving if there are any negative surprises?
