Marek, what you think you support and what you actually support are two different things. I used to support government welfare [to keep charity equitable]. That was 40 years ago before there was government welfare.

Now, older and wiser, I realize I was supporting the torture to the death of little children. stuff.co.nz That's not what I thought I was supporting but if I had understood how governments always work, I'd have realized that would be the outcome. There are many such tortures and killings in New Zealand these days, not to mentioned carnage among adults.

<I'm the last person to prosecute anybody, even Alan Greenspan. It is the system we are in which is blood thirsty.>

Ron Paul did NOT get significant support so nearly everyone in fact supports the nasty and stupid outcomes, whether they know it or not. By voting for those who run the system, you do support the system.

It seems totally absurd that anyone could even remotely think that Alan Green$pan needs prosecution let alone punishment for doing a good job of looking after money.

Green$pan wasn't "top cop", he was just a government department business manager, managing money. He cannot control what people do with money and to the extent that he or other authorities try, their country becomes more like USSR/Maoland.

His was simply a supply and demand management job. He could control some interest rates. Supplying money at 1% is fair enough, or 10%. If people want to borrow at 1% that's up to them. It wasn't his fault that people misjudged their economic situations and certainly not if they lied about them to con creditors into lending. Such liars should be turned into organ donors with their creditors selling the parts at auction to repay the loans. The estates would get any residual value from the sale of body parts.

The policing of fraud was not Greenspan's job.

We should be appreciative to Mr Greenspan for using much of his old age in public service and doing a good job of it. It is absurd and hideously ill-mannered, rude and boorish the way people discuss such an estimable and venerable old man.

I didn't borrow money. Swarms of people didn't. I ranted years ago about Zombies borrowing and blaming. It was obvious that borrowing money to buy over-priced houses was a bad idea. Three years ago I went shopping for a house in California but prices were about double what I would have considered paying. The people who paid twice the price have only themselves to blame. It didn't take a rocket scientist to see that rents, incomes, house prices, exchange rates, taxes, were NOT in happy harmony.

The correct price of a house, or anything, isn't a matter of whether people have enough money in the bank or from income to pay for it, it's a matter of whether the return on the investment is high enough. People seemed to think that because they could "buy" a house for no deposit and 110% loan, with not enough income to make mortgage payments even at the low initial interest rate, they should go ahead and do so, and even lie to the mortgagee about their income.

I don't see why I should pay for ridiculous borrowing and lending. Let the house "buyer" and their creditor go broke and I'll buy both the house and the mortgagee business. They won't like my price, but they can look for a higher bidder if they prefer. It would be nice to have houses spread around the USA - the existing "owners" could in many instances stay on as my house-keepers.
