There are plenty of "real" reasons to not like Obama. He's a liberal- at least on some things, although he tends to be more conservative socially. He's not a small government guy- but I guess the "real" reasons aren't scary enough? He's got to be something bigger? So it's just more fun to make up ridiculous stuff than use the real stuff? I dunno- I'm guessing. Because it seems like every other day (or more often) some fabricated piece of horse poop (and usually one that could easily have been fact checked on the internet) shows up on some of the fora on SI.

The sheer mass of fabrication and hysteria on the right is bizarre. I used to think the left went a little overboard on Bush- but this is far far weirder, which makes me feel better. Kookiness rarely wins the day.

reveals far more about yourself than about Obama.

Since the topic of Goldwater's "myself" came up on the thread the other day, since the usage of reflexive pronouns has taken this odd turn in recent years, and since I have no other source to satisfy my curiosity, would you mind telling me why you used "yourself" rather than "you" in that sentence? Are you being trendy or what?
