I worry about all this right wing crap if Obama is elected.

Who is going to listen apart from the hate-talk radio faithful? The rest of the media will be covering the new administration - appointment, policies, legislative agenda, etc. - while the fringe of diehards is still screeching about Obama being a secret alien from Pluto sent by Bin Laden to eat their children.

It will be sound and fury, nothing more, until the Republican Party finishes its reinvention. And that could take years.

I understand your concern. I think we'll have to wait and see what happens. I think there is a decent chance that what happens to the far right is what happened to liberals in the "Reagan years"- that they'll get shoved over to the sidelines while the rest of the country chases the center. I didn't enjoy that during the Reagan years, so I think turnabout would only be fair play if it happens to the right :-)
