Anyone who spent more than two minutes looking at and listening to Palin without rose-colored glasses on, figured out pretty quickly what her strengths and weaknesses were. She was brought in on the theory that her symbolic political appeal would outweigh her lightweight depth on the issues.

It is entirely possible that the campaign insiders got a much closer look at the candidate than the Washington media did <g>

I assume that's what Joe Lieberman meant when he said she's not ready to be president. But she didn't need to be.
