I'm thinking back to 2001. Days before 9/11 we got a huge spike in the PO of the VIX or VXN (Can't recall) and the flavor of the day was potential oil issues. 5 days later the shoe that dropped was of course the twin towers. Well, based on that, I'm wondering if conventional thought process (another major financial quake) is correct or could the catalyst be something totally unexpected like in 2001?
