he doesn't know anything about economics but McCain was a good deficit hawk. McCain was the one that said "they're spending like drunken sailors- wait thats an insult to drunken sailors" in 2003 when Bush and the republicans were looting the treasury for pork. Somehow McCain's image of a deficit hawk has been lost. I still think had McCain won in 2000 and not Bush the world would be a better place today. But alas if wishes were horses. He let those right wing zealots take control and now he has lost the image he once had.
