Nice John Stuart Mill quote from Martenson's Chapt 19:

Panics do not destroy capital; they merely reveal the extent to which it has been previously destroyed by its betrayal into hopelessly unproductive works.--- John Stuart Mill, 1867

I am having a Minsky/Roubini moment this weekend

so are we....

been studying historical charts of the stock market crash, peak to trough, , it takes over 2 1/2 years to bottom (380 down to 41)....scary thought here is we are in much worse shape demographically, economically (debt + loss of manufacturing base and natural resources) much more interconnected globally...(do we really understand the implications of a deep and protracted world wide recession?).....anyway, if you apply the percentage loss during the 29 crash over time, we could be headed for a sub 4000 DOW....

while it seems almost impossible, so did DOW 8000 just 2 months ago
