You were thrown out of an event if you wore a t-shirt that was not favorable to Bush or a Bush policy.

There WAS that incident, in which Secret Service employees were acting in accordance with their own interpretation of their Advance Manual -- but there is no evidence to suggest that Bush or the administration had anything to do with it.

The Advance Manual clearly states that crowds are to be "balanced" -- the Secret Service took it upon themselves, since there were no pro-administration t-shirt wearing people, to eject these two individuals. Everyone admitted after the fact that it was a mistake to have done so.

But this is not the kind of stifling of dissent that is ALREADY being employed by the Obama campaign. This campaign is REPLETE with incidents where THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN has acted (taking advantage of a liberal media) to shut down any dissent at all.

The most important thing to watch will be the Fairness Doctrine issue. If Obama moves to support the reinstatement, it should (and will, I think) be taken as the Dems attempting to consolidate their power using fascist techniques.
