I think the situation is that the Republicans so badly mismanaged things that the country is going to try plan B. Canada has occasionally elected the NDP - and then rejected them. We are about to try our version of the NDP. The question is how long will it take for them to be rejected.

Of note - if our NDP is not rejected it would mean they did a good job.

Not to mention "smart" is a necessary, but not sufficient, condition to making good decisions. "Smart" decisions are made by smart people with the proper intellectual framework to index. Garbage in, garbage out. Everything we have seen about Obama shows his intellectual framework is shaped by Marx and his progeny. His decisions will be made according to the framework he has, and that doesn't look so peachy.
