I never gave up on Bush. Bush has confronted more and worse critical events over which he had no control than any president I can think of. He has done well in the face of persistent resistance by his political opponents and persistent sniping from the left. I think he will be vindicated in history, provided the type of America we end up with after Obama is returned to the Republic that the founders envisioned. I am sick to my stomach that we may be forced to endure the changes Obama wants. I don't want any of them, and about half the country agrees with me.
