Yes I have seen some of the agro and meat ETFs. As you say given the toxic structure they could turn into something very foul. I remember that on the days MS hang in the balance, many MS structured products (Percs etc) took a 40% dive in addition to the drop in underlying values, simply because people hit everything with MS on it. Turned out that they would have been good buys... but who knows that.

I mostly trade ag futures. The small futures allow portfolio creation with relatively fine granularity. The small wheat is for 5000 bucks, currently and the small corn for 3800 bucks.

Gold looks good today: 740.

EDIT: and a small quick break in the USD ...while the japanese had a drop on verbal intervention... still not enough to break it.
