Too often people miss that Iranians are not only Shia but Persian, not Arab, as well. Those differences have resulted in centuries of mistreatment by the Arabs and helped shape the Iranian culture.

Ooops,!!!! right... and I've been told that many times! I eat at a Persian restaraunt and worked with a good group of Iranaian guys in school. Got their own new years and all...

Indeed.

After watching the show on skinheads that spoke of the White Aryan Resistance and then one on the Aryan Brotherhood, and course thinking on the Nazis... is odd to me and I wonder if they realize that Iran means Land of the Aryans? I don't know if it's an irony, but it's something.

I agree with LLCF that it was one of the stupidest cases of interfering in a country's business when we backed the shah.
