Barack Obama for president. The newspaper said Sunday the Democrat "brings far more promise to the office. In a time of grave economic crisis, he displays thoughtful analysis, enlists wise counsel and operates with a cool, steady hand." The Daily News said since the economic crisis has emerged, Republican presidential candidate John McCain has "stumbled and fumbled badly" in dealing with it. "Of the two candidates, Sen. Obama better understands the mortgage meltdown's root causes and has the judgment and intelligence to shape a solution, as well as the leadership to rally the country behind it," the paper said. The Daily News said Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has shown the country why she is a success as governor. For every tough interview Republicans get, the Dems have one too. Did you see the Biden interview the other day where the reporter asked if Obama was a Marxist? Things are tough for everyone. McCain and Palin are just bad candidates. Say what you will about Bush Jr and his policies, but he was a good candidate. He was on message 24x7, not prone to gaffes, and had a VP who was an equally good candidate. That's how you win. Both McCain and Palin are really unpopular. I think Palin is a better political candidate than McCain, because she's more camera attractive and says things with conviction while looking right at the camera. McCain comes across as a seething, erratic, bumbler. Sorry, but it's true. If Republicans wanted to win this time around, they should have chosen Romney and Huckabee. Hindsight's always 20/20, though.
