It would appear that for many the bailout is an opportunity, in a way that is easy to understand and ideologically neutral: biz.yahoo.com As for control, everyone wants that, especially when chaos seems to be ruling the day. Letting the banks control themselves resulted in a serious freaking lack of transparency. It's time to have someone else look into it, and that's the government, although I suppose we could outsource a sort of national audit offshore, maybe the Chinese would be interested in running things here for a while ;-)
