just in in-tray, and hk fell 12.7% today, indicating perhaps that it will rain on new york per our earlier discussion regarding what the boyz do at times between hk and ny

This is sign of the times in HK…This story may be anecdotal with no follow up, and thus we need to see if this story will get more coverage. Also unclear is how many banks have done this…

Below points are from TVB News in Cantonese

· A beauty salon and a travel agent said they were told by two separate banks that credit card payments made by customers will not get transferred until 60 days later, starting next month

· The beauty salon said 90% of its revenue relied on credit card payments made by customers and the payment terms was only 1 to 2 days previously before the notification

· Zero interest installments have also been cut to 12months

· Federation of HK Industries chairman, Mr Chan, criticized banks for making the move

· The travel agent said it would not accept credit card payment due to the issue
