slacker711;

You are arguing with the specifics, but my point was that there is a redistribution today that effects every facet of our society. Even to the richest. What makes more sense; redistributing to the richest or redeistributing to the less fortunate?

Don't count me in this group as I believe in a straight value added tax - like a sales tax. I think even the poorest should pay even if it is a tiny amount. But I find it really annoying when some of the republicans moan about "redistribution" when they have been doing it all along - only redistributing to the rich.

I'm also becoming really annoyed at McCain and conservatives constant harping on this tax issue. There is no free lunch John McCain. If you want to lower taxes, tell us where you make up that revenue.
