When the legislative or executive functionaries act unconstitutionally, they are responsible to the people in their elective capacity. The exemption of the judges from that is quite dangerous enough. I know of no safe depository of the ultimate powers of the society, but the people themselves. …. If Jefferson were alive he'd be questioning his own (bolded) statement. What I mean by that is the statement works as long as you have a ready population of properly, born, bred and raised, with American traditions, on hand. With our present liberalized educational system, multicultural to the core, we may be losing the most important crop of people that we have.
