To many federal jobs on the line.

Law enforcement is in charge of scheduling. At least the beginnings of the process.

Huge budgets are kept in place in the attempt to eradicate marijuana.

If the legal status of marijuana were to change, a lot of feds would get their pink slips.

And those are the people who are the "gatekeepers." As long as they can keep the status quo, they keep their jobs.

It's like they put the robbers in charge of the bank.

In Michigan, the main cluster of people making noise against Prop #1 are involved in law enforcement.

It all seems like pure self interest at the expense of the people of the United States.

Dreadful expense.
In tax dollars
In pain, of many kinds, and death to otherwise law abiding citizens.

This is the coin that those within the DOJ are willing to pay for their jobs. They pay your well being in exchange for their jobs and budgets.
