Crossy,

Another question. As we know that part of this year's big jump of semi equipment makers was contribued by the heavy orders from Taiwan foundries. Right now US dollars closed at the high of NT 31 today. What would it affect the semi equipment makers here? I watch amat, lrcx every day. They seem pretty weak at this point. Also will NT depreciation help CPQ's profit margin which has part of its component parts made in Taiwan?

Regards,

IRis

g'day Crossy & all - unless ECI is down right horrendous, I don't think so either (re: rate hike.) Also, a hike with all the SE Asian currencies falling could only cause more problems than it could solve. Uncle Al can only look at the Hong Kong mkt to see what it might be! While people think Alan Greenspan's hawkish stand on inflation, personally I think he is equally waried of his legacy in the stk mkt. Personally, I think he is not about to see 2 mkt crasshes in his watch as Fed chief, especially when this may very well be his last term, after which he may go emeritous
