It will be interesting to see whether the whole RW really does embrace Palin, who represents the evangelical, very conservative branch or begins some semblance of introspection and evaluation. The intellectuals will evaluate. They're already evaluating. The rank and file are unlikely to be introspective. Whether they'll eventually follow their own intellectuals or chew them up as intellectual "other," hard to say. I guess it will depend on what political leadership surfaces. Gingrich might be a player as both an intellectual and a politician.
