Lee is already living like a "KING" and he is trying to become
the KING OF KINGS.

Lee might be in for a surprise if gets a friendly or otherwise bid from ATT,if this happens his ambitions may be quashed. I also watched NBR last night, Lee's arguments weren't all that convincing to me. I was suspicious of his comments about strong cash flow and investment grade debt etc.I believe he is putting too much faith in his investment bankers. What do they care, they get their 30 million a piece if the deal goes through, and if it doesn't they still get a few bucks for analysing the deal etc. I dont know how in the world he can say he will have a strong cash flow blah blah when burdened by some 54 billion dollars in long term debt.It is beyond me! He got lucky in that the subject of dividends never came up,I don't know why the reporter didn't ask him about that.

As a GTE employee I've met Mr. Lee a couple of times. I was rather impressed in him and glad to have him in charge of my company. He may seem dull on TV - he has to to some degree. GTE has a huge conservative following that might be scared off by a lot of flare and hype. It's roots are not as a growth company but a much more stable growing entity. While I agree that that is now changing, Lee probably feels he must walk a line.
