T. Boone Estimates He’s Down $2B From Drop in Oil, Gas Prices

By KATIE FEHRENBACHER, GigaOm
Published: October 27, 2008

Yet another profile of wind crusader T. Boone Pickens aired Sunday night — this time on 60 Minutes — and it had the usual details about the 80-year-old former oil baron’s plan to get the U.S. off its addiction to foreign oil. But 60 Minutes did score an interesting tidbit about how much Pickens and his investment firm BP Capital have lost since oil and natural gas prices started dropping in July: $2 billion!

Impossible but it is happening. That is what happens when you listen to the educated geniuses of the planned economy. I can't find the link but there was an interesting article I read which pointed out how nobel prize winners were involved in wetting up the mathematical formulas which were supposed to make the system fool proof. By the way the geniuses couldn't forsee it, but many on this thread did. Hmmmm maybe those smart people aren't so smart after all. :)

The above belittles education. That is what has been wrong the last 30 years, and the last eight years exponentially.

Education is the whole ball game. It is what pulled us out of the edark ages and is what allows for modern civilzation. And there is no such thing as too much education.

We have a better chance of solving our complex problems with people who understand the importance of learning and complexity than people and cultures that are anti intllectual like bush and cheney, MCCain and Palin.
