What caused the drought? Natures cycle. Dry, wet and dry again. Every farmer I knew if you asked them "How is everything?" answered.

If it rained.

"Fields to muddy to plant! Hard to raise a crop this way!"

If it was sunny.

"Without rain soon the crops will wither to nothing!"

I guess that comes from fighting nature to survive. We are just now beginning to understand farming scientifically. GPS and automated systems are revolutionizing the planting and harvesting. Computerized monitoring techniques manage fertilizer and pesticide applications.

Now if you ask those same farmers "How is everything?" they answer.

"Fields to muddy to plant!" or " Without rain we won't get a crop!".

Progress lurches forward.

<do you know why there was such a prolonged drought?>

I'm not an expert on weather, but I was told it was because it didn't rain.
