An AU is not impossible. I don't think Obama is bold enough to try something entirely new. I can imagine that the Clintons have the ambition and the creativity to propose something that bold.

A North American Union is a no brainer. It is only a matter of time. A North American and South American Union (AU) may take a little longer.

It seems like it is something that is bound to be proposed within the next 50/100 years or so.
