With all the forced selling and deleveraging going on, none of the current irrational behavior surprises me. Anyone who tries to invest rationally here stands a good chance of getting creamed, at least in the short term.

With the leverage being permanently lowered, it could be decades before we see Dow 12000 again, or oil in the 140's, or shacks in California selling for $800K. No one knows where the new "normal" levels are going to be, but they are most definitely going to be lower than where they were just a few months ago.

Also not convinced China and other emerging markets won't go into depression, with resulting civil unrest.
