During the past 8 years, the tax cuts have benefited almost exclusively the rich. This is an absurd remark considering -- Forget "considering"......statistic after statistic has shown that the Bush tax cuts benefited only the upper 10%. The disparity between the rich and the poor in this country is at the greatest level in 80 years. Jobs created under the Bush economy on average pay less than those created under the Clinton economy. Unemployment never got back to the levels they were under Clinton even though they were coming down from a much lower level. It took years for federal revenues to return to the level prior to when the tax cuts were implemented. In other words, the US treasury was 'robbed' in order to line the pockets of the rich. a) Bush inherited a recession; The mildest recession in a 100 years. b) 9/11 was probably the most economically damaging event to ever occur on our soil, until At its worst, it hurt the economy of lower Manhattan. Its impact on the rest of the country was relatively minor. Even the stock market recovered fairly quickly.c) 8/29/05, when Katrina became the most economically damaging event to occur on our soil, until Only because Bush's FEMA did a poor job of responding. And don't give me this BS that the local providers were responsible......the only one who believes that is you. But the major cause of our financial mess is the Iraqi war....a war started to satisfy whatever BS was going on in Bush's head. That war has undermined the country physically, economically, and psychologically.d) Barney Frank and Chris Dodd unleashed the most economically damaging event in our history. About which damaging event are you speaking? To date, the right has accused B. Frank of so many things I can't keep up.I just don't know how anyone can criticize the Bush tax cuts when you consider how well our economy has done under the toughest of circumstances; a person really has to be ultra-partisan or totally blind not to see this. Interestingly, the Dems in Congress were falling all over themselves to do another stimulus check.<?I> You know you are more than welcome to stick to your story. The longer you do the better it will be for the rest of us.
